Solar that fits your home and your plans

There’s no single solar setup that suits every household. The roof, the amount of daylight it receives and the times you use electricity all make a difference. So do your plans for the future.

You might want to install solar panels now and consider a battery later. You might already have panels and want to use more of the energy they produce. Or you may be looking at solar alongside a heat pump. We’ll help you understand the options without pushing equipment you don’t need.

Solar Panels and Home Battery Storage

Solar Panels

Solar panels generate electricity during daylight hours, which your home can use as it is produced. We’ll look at your roof space, its position and any shading before discussing what might work for your property.

Home Battery Storage

A battery can store some of the electricity your panels generate for use later, such as in the evening. Depending on your setup and tariff, it may also be possible to charge a battery from the grid at lower cost times.

The right system starts with a conversation

We don’t believe the answer is always the biggest battery or the most panels a roof can hold. A useful starting point is understanding your home: when you use electricity, what equipment you already have and whether anything is likely to change.

If you’re thinking about an electric car or a heat pump in the future, let us know. We can take those plans into account while keeping the focus on what you need today.

How it works

We take time to understand your property and electricity use before recommending solar panels, battery storage or both.

THE BROMLEY ENERGY APPROACH

Designed for today, ready for tomorrow

We don’t start with a set number of panels or a battery from a price list. We start with your home and how you use electricity.

You might want solar now, a battery later, or a setup that takes a future heat pump or electric car into account. We’ll explain what makes sense for your home today and help you keep your options open.

What we’ll consider together:

Your roof space, position and shading
When your household uses electricity
Whether battery storage would be useful

FAQ

Your questions about heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage

Yes. A heat pump uses electricity, and your home can use electricity generated by its solar panels while they’re producing it. Solar generation is usually lower in winter, when you’re likely to need the most heating, so we wouldn’t suggest solar will cover all your heat pump’s electricity use.

No. Solar panels work without a battery. Storage lets you keep some of the electricity you don’t use straight away for later, such as in the evening.

Yes, that may be an option. Some batteries can charge from the grid, including during cheaper tariff periods. If you’re considering solar later, tell us so we can discuss that when planning the system.

Often, yes. We’d need to check your existing equipment and how a battery could connect before recommending a setup.

It’s helpful to tell us about all three, even if you don’t want to install them at once. We can consider how your electricity use might change and explain what makes sense for your home now.
